Westy Celebrates 139 Non-Profits in 2010

In 2010, Westy Self Storage reached out to their communities and supported 139 non-profit organizations. The 16 Westy centers have hosted donation drives for many of the non-profits encouraging the community to make a donation. Westy has extended their grand lobbies to host non-profits’ fundraisers and functions. Westy has donated their network of trucks, gas included, and associates’ time to help where needed. Moving forward, Westy wants to grow this initiative and is asking the community for help.

In this time of economic adversity, many of us were forced to reorganize our finances. But as we focused on our own needs, there were many less fortunate to consider. In a time when unemployment has reached its highest point since the early ‘80s, more and more became reliant on assistance from non-profit organizations. The increased demand of shelters and soup kitchens has been a hallmark of the past 18 months. As more people reach out to non-profits for assistance, the need for donations increases drastically, however as economic trauma remains in the forefront, there has been a decrease in charitable contributions. Unfortunately, when the economy is declining and budgets are tightening, even the most generous donors tend to trim their offerings. Westy Self Storage has always been inclined to help the community and has increased their efforts this past year.
